For my readers who will attend prom this year, what will you wear?  Are you in need of a few suggestions to make sure you pick a style that is best for you?  If so, here are 3 tips to make you one of the best-dressed at your prom.

• Find a color to suit your skin tone *See ES-Blog (What’s Your Color?) for a few fashion tips, then ask friends and family to tell you which colors look best with your skin tone.  Keep in mind that just as colors can brighten your appearance, some colors can darken and dull your complexion.  Be sure to do your research.

• Find a dress that compliments your body.  Often we choose dresses worn by celebrities seen on the red carpet.  For example, Kelly Rowland looked amazing in the famous knit dress with the peak-a-boo sheer panels, BUT if you don’t have the Kelly Rowland (32-24-32) body, I strongly suggest you leave that dress on the rack.  Wearing a dress that is not made for your body is not cute, and showing too much is not always flattering.

• Find a dress that compliments your personality.  If you are fun with loads of energy, a long dress with a side split may miss the mark.  Choose a dress that personifies who you are.  And, if you’re looking to add a little pop, you can try a few simple tricks, such as making a long dress short, using vibrant colors instead of grays and browns, or adding volume with tulle or organza.

Some proms are only 4 weeks away, but it’s not too late to pick up the spice for one of the most unforgettable days of your life.
